Interior Designers Mosman: Residential Project
A beautiful family home with grand proportions and elegant features. We designed a custom whisky bar to stand proudly at one end of the room to display treasures gathered from a life of travel. Statement lighting, marble-topped dining furniture and a chic lounge area to the opposite end of the room. A perfect blend of existing art, antiques and rugs with new pieces sourced to complete the space.

A Personal Centrepiece
At the heart of the main living space sits a custom whisky bar, designed not simply as a functional element, but as a personal statement. It provides a place to display treasured objects gathered over time, anchoring the room with meaning and character. This feature sets the tone for the entire project, interiors that are deeply personal, reflective of the client’s story, and grounded in thoughtful design decisions.

Spaces Designed for Living and Entertaining
Opposite the bar, a generous lounge area invites connection and conversation. Soft, layered furnishings bring warmth and tactility, while carefully selected lighting creates atmosphere without overpowering the space. Every piece has been chosen to sit comfortably within the architecture, allowing the room to feel curated yet effortlessly lived in.

A Dialogue Between Old and New
The dining space continues this narrative of balance and refinement. A marble-topped dining table becomes the focal point, offering a sense of permanence and quiet luxury. Surrounding it is a mix of new and existing pieces, antiques and inherited artworks integrated seamlessly with contemporary furnishings. This dialogue between old and new adds depth, ensuring the space feels collected rather than styled.
A Layered, Considered Approach
Throughout the home, the approach is consistent: respect what already exists, enhance it with intention, and layer in elements that will stand the test of time. Rather than imposing a singular aesthetic, the design allows the client’s possessions, memories, and lifestyle to lead the way.
Photographed by Helen Ward of Inward Outward, the finished interiors capture a sense of calm sophistication, spaces that feel resolved, generous, and welcoming.

Designing Mosman Homes With Meaning
What defines this project is not a single feature, but the way all elements work together. Custom pieces sit alongside cherished belongings. Strong materials are softened with texture and tone. Rooms are designed to evolve with the family, accommodating both everyday life and special occasions.
This is the essence of Alix Helps Interiors' work, as residential interior design specialists, the studio creates spaces that are not only visually refined but emotionally resonant. Homes that feel finished, yet flexible. Elegant, yet deeply human.
